Container Ship Freed from Suez Canal

Global shipping no longer at a standstill

After several days of the Suez Canal being completely blocked, workers were able to dislodge one of the world’s largest vessels from the side of the bank. The 220,000 ton and quarter-mile-long ship the “Ever Given” completely prevented any ships from traveling through the waterway, costing an estimated $400 million per hour.

Thirty percent of the world’s shipping travels through this vital canal in order to bypass sailing around the African continent. The week-long delay is expected to have a ripple effect on the global economy has delayed many ships by weeks and possibly months as a result. It is expected to take 10 days to process the current backlog alone.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God to give U.S. Trade Representative Tai wisdom as she meets with the G7 nations this week.
  • That Commerce Secretary Raimondo would seek God’s guidance as she leads her department.
  • For the president’s administration as trade and import policies are implemented.
